Will it be faster than smoke through a keyhole?
Housing recoveries are often rapid.
There is no question we are in a cool down of the real estate market here in the Greater Sacramento area, but let me explain to you what I think makes this cool down, or correction, so different than the melt down we experienced in the early 1990s.
In the late 1980s and throughout much of 1990, there had been a very large run-up of prices on homes in our area. Similar to what we’ve experienced in recent years as well.
A little over a year ago, we wondered if we were exper... Read more

DUELING REAL ESTATE TRENDS
DUELING REAL ESTATE TRENDS
Great West GMAC Real Estate professionals are sometimes asked by clients to answer questions regarding what is trendy in housing. Or they will ask, “Are we going big, or moving smaller?”
In a recent quest to track information on real estate statistics and trends, Sami Siddiqui, broker for Great West GMAC Real Estate noticed contradiction among the pundits of “what’s hot – what’s not” in the real estate marketplace.
One pundit seems to imply the Mc Mansion is very much alive and doing well. And predicts homes built in the future will taut ... Read more

Turning Dreams into Reality
Turning Dreams into Reality
Not long ago, a Great West GMAC Real Estate professional lamented that as a child, she would often daydream about living in a home similar to the doll house she had. The doll house became among the most cherished of her memories.
As we grow older and hopefully mature to a certain degree, we realize that what we wish for as a child isn’t always possible. However, something about the little Victorian doll house, decked out in holiday grandeur, had never drifted far from her dreams for the future.
Little did she know years later she would... Read more

Would you believe a bidding war is going on?
We’ve certainly had more than our fair share of bad news in the housing marketplace in recent months, but there may be reason for a glimmer of hope, and a new dawn breaking at last on the horizon.
More and more GreatWest GMAC Real Estate Professionals are reporting offers being written, and more buying activity than seen in awhile.
The entry-level housing arena seems to be enjoying some exuberance being fed by the CAL FHA, First Time Buyer program.
One real estate agent reported they had been working with a buyer for a few weeks, using this type of financing for a ho... Read more

THE GREAT DIVIDE
A few days ago, we posted about bidding wars going on in the arena of homes, which were priced well, and in good condition; much of this activity being fed by the CAL FHA First Time Buyer program.
While blogging we have been provided with really interesting comments from real estate professionals across the nation.
It was noted these bidding wars, aren’t just indigenous to the Greater Sacramento, El Dorado, and Placer Counties – but also other locations across America.
However, there is certainly a Great Divide being experienced in the housing marketplace. As one re... Read more

Living Together While Marketing a Home
What to Do If You Are Divorcing and A Chilly Housing Market is Forcing You to Stay Under the Same Roof
Increasingly, GreatWest GMAC Real Estate Professionals are hearing of a trend - which could remind folks of a tamer version of the movie, “War of the Roses.”
Current real estate market conditions have some divorcing couples looking to separate their lives, but realizing they can’t afford to live apart until their home is sold.
Unlike a few years ago, when many homeowners had loads of equity to share, and really good credit, current times are providing many glimpses ... Read more
